House Points
At our school, every child belongs to one of four house teams:
- Phoenix (Red)
- Capricorn (Green)
- Griffin (Yellow)
- Pegasus (Blue)
Each house is proudly led by two Year 6 House Captains, who act as role models and help promote teamwork, school spirit and a positive attitude throughout the school.
Our house system plays an important role in school life. It helps children develop a strong sense of belonging, build friendships across year groups, and learn the value of teamwork, responsibility and healthy competition. Through working together towards shared goals, children gain confidence, celebrate one another's successes and feel proud to contribute to their house community.
Earning House Points
Children are awarded house points to recognise and celebrate their achievements both inside and outside the classroom. Points can be earned for:
- A positive attitude to learning
- Excellent effort and perseverance
- Academic attainment and progress
- Good behaviour and kindness towards others
- Demonstrating our school values
House points encourage children to take pride in their work, support one another and contribute positively to the school community.
House Point Awards
As children collect house points, they work towards a series of special award certificates. These milestones recognise sustained effort and achievement throughout their time at school.
- 42 House Points – Green Award
- 84 House Points – Blue Award
- Further awards continue through to the prestigious Platinum Award
In total, there are six award levels for children to achieve. Each award is celebrated during our weekly Celebration Assemblies, where we recognise pupils' hard work, dedication and success.
Celebrating Success
Every week, we announce the house team that has collected the most house points, helping to build excitement, teamwork and friendly competition across the school.
At the end of each term, the house with the highest overall points total enjoys a special reward or treat in recognition of their collective effort, commitment and achievements. This provides a wonderful opportunity for children to celebrate their success together and reinforces the importance of working as a team.
Our House Point system helps create a positive, encouraging environment where every child has the opportunity to shine, be recognised for their achievements and contribute to their house's success.
